Headteacher's Welcome
I am delighted to introduce to you Szeged International Primary School where children "Learn to learn, love to learn, live to learn".
Established in 2017, Szeged International Primary School is maintained by Kalocsai Krisztina Foundation. We are a small school with 62 students and although we do intend to grow, our aim is to keep numbers low compared to other schools.
Szeged IPS is the only international school in the region offering an alternative schooling solution for expatriate families living and working in this area of Hungary. Most of our students, however, are Hungarian families, many having moved back from abroad and some who simply want their children to experience an education system which differs from the Hungarian national education system.
While we are an international school, we understand that our Hungarian families and those planning to stay in the country for an extended period of time find Hungarian studies a necessity for their child. To cater for these needs, Hungarian Literacy, Language and Literature is part of the curriculum but we also offer Hungarian as a foreign language as an alternative for families staying in Hungary temporarily.
Our school day begins at 9.00 a.m. and ends at 3.00 p.m. Extra curricular activities and childcare services last until 5:00 p.m. and are free of charge. Extra-curricular clubs include chess, Woodshop, Science club, dance, beading, painting, guitar, Robocode, Spanish and yoga.
